What is "Fitness For the Culture" in light of COVID-19?

Thank you for being a part of BLAQUE’s community. This is an especially trying time for everyone and we want to share some thoughts with you as we all navigate this together.

We are extremely sensitive to the disproportionate impact that COVID-19 is having on black and brown communities. These are not numbers to us; they are our family members, they are our friends, they are us. This disproportionate impact is the consequence of a myriad of injustices that have always affected our communities.

BLAQUE was always a response to this truth- the truth that our well-being hasn’t been taken care of. The time for change is long overdue. BLAQUE exists because you are worthy of being seen. You are worthy of having your everyday experiences reflect the tremendous value that you hold. You are worthy of feeling valued, appreciated and taken care of. You are worthy of living well and living fully. You deserve that. You deserve so much more than this.

It takes a village to solve every problem that our community is facing. BLAQUE is putting its focus on what will keep us well right now. The natural response to how we are being impacted by COVID-19 is anger, frustration, a sense of helplessness, isolation, increased grief from greater loss, anxiety, fear and more. As a Fitness/Wellness company, we are acutely aware of the fact that these things lower the body's immune response and consequently can compound the negative effects of COVID-19. We aim to directly combat that. It is imperative.

We are launching our Digital Platform and curating a space for community, fitness and wellness that is an absolute necessity right now. As we build out our platform, we want to hear from you. We want to know what you’re going through, how this season is impacting you (whether positively, negatively or in between) so that we can serve you at the highest level during this season and always.

With so much love and warmth during this season,

T’Nisha Glenn
